This is indeed a groundswell trend; i.e. the Democratic party's Old Guard is stepping aside [read being pushed out of the way] to make way for the party's young contenders.
Just like Obama, Hillary intends to attempt to continue influencing the party from the sidelines. Doubtless Tulsi Gabbard, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar and the leader of the Wannabe tribe: Pocahontas AKA Elizabeth Warren are relieved to have Hillary out of the way.
